BoYs WiLl Be BoYs

For those of you who were fortunate to
have daughters ONLY, be glad....
be very, very glad...

And you also find out very interesting things when you have sons, like ....

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.
2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with WhiteKing makes smoke, and lots of it.
9.) A 6-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.
10.) Certain Legos will pass through the digestive tract of a 4- year old boy.
11.) 'Play Dough' and 'microwave' should not be used in the same sentence.
12.) Super Glue is forever.
13.) No matter how much Jelly you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
14.) Pool filters do not like Jelly.
15.) VCR's do not eject Peanut Butter & Jam sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.
16.) Bin bags do not make good parachutes.
17.) Marbles in fuel tanks make lots of noise when driving.
18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.
19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.
20.) The fire department in East Melbourne has a 3-minute response time.
21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.
23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
24.) 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.
25.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the WhiteKing and brake fluid.

PhOtO mAnIpUlAtIoN

This is a photo manipulation that I did for the group workshop on TheLatestTrendsInMixedMediaArts. Now it is time for me to fess up....I did this in a cool program that I found online called ArtRage 2. I got the free version but I am seriously thinking that I may have to purchase the full version as it is fun and very addictive. There are so many possibilities for doing photo manipulation. I WILL try the REAL art of doing the manipulations on printed photos once I have a little more free time.

HeRe KiTtY kItTy

Say hello to our newest family member. Madison named her Precious. She said that the kitty was "Oh so precious, just like MomMom"!! Isn't she the sweetest.....Oh and the kitten too!!

BaRn AnD yArD SaLe FiNdS

I went to a barn sale where the entire barn was FILLED with all sorts of vntage stuff. I found this vintage yellow (the pic makes it look white) stoneware bowl for .50, the vintage wooden rule for .25, the vintage grammar book for .25 and the coolest...about 200 or so of these vintage photo charms $1.00 for the whole bag!! The rule, book, charms, lace and canvases below I will use for my art!!

At a yard sale I found these textural canvases for .50 each that I plan on re-doing since I don't like the flowers already on them. They are commercial of some sort so I will make them my own works!!

I got 2 rolls of vintage lace...price?? FREE!!

This little chest of drawers was only $1.00 and the old milk jug carrier was $3.00.

I found this cool clock for my piano top for $1.00.

Eggs anyone?? I was hoping the weather was actually warm enough to fry an egg. It went from sunny to cloudy way too quickly. At least the rain held off all day.

I thought that this was a very good drawing of a horse and colt. I like the way she did the field.

This girl was joking that her horse drawing looked more like a kangaroo!!

I thought this was a good drawing too bad he didn't add more to it. This person entered, did a quick sketch and took off in a flash.
