Maddie and I went and looked at kittens today at the local pet shop. We will be taking DeeDee back on Monday. I really want a cat like this one but DeeDee thinks they "look evil" like the ones in the movie Cats & Dogs LOL.

Maddie was doing patty-cake, being cute as usual. It is a great thing when you can capture moments like this on film. Despite the fact that she is totally photogenic, it takes loads of picures just to capture that one special shot. Which reminds me (note to self) that I need to start backing up all of thse pictures on disk. I've been wondering if there is a way to keep my blog on disk somehow so Madison has a copy to look at in the future. HMMM...do I Google that?

The weather today was above 70 degrees.We worked on the flower beds, garden, played and purchased seeds. After spending most of the day outside, we sat down to our first dinner outdoors. Hopefully warm weather is here to stay.

If you haven't seen this movie yet you've missed out! It really is a HOOT!! I have always had a thing for these guys. We used to purposly speed up the records to 78rpm's on our little portable record player to make EVERY song a chipmunk song...LOL!

I made these 3 ATC's by first taking old junk mail and making handmade paper. Once the paper was dried I ripped it into smaller pieces. A great item to recycle!!

GrOw - An AtC

This is my entry for the Spring Theme ATC lottery at Alteredesigns group. I stamped the image on acetate and painted the back side using shimmery powder pigments. I then glued it onto a shimmery paper lightly stamped with a leaf stamp using the same pigments instead of ink. Titled GROW.

This was done on handmade paper using a stamped image, drawn figures, gold ink, beads and rafia.

I did this by taking to exact copies of a drawing and cutting into 1" squares. I then went around each square with a gold ink. The first layer was glued down flat. The second layer was done by folding each square into a triangle, leaving the long side puffed up and then gluing down onto flat square in a rotating pattern.

I did these two in 1995 using colored pencils and ink on the above and gouache and ink on the one below.
