November 21st, 2008 Private First Class Brittany Nicole Freese. What a wonderful experience, it brings tears to my eyes even today as I write this. I am the proudest mother in the world right now!!

tHe BeAcH iN nOvEmBeR?

Yes, that's right...we hit the beach in November!! After our family day with Brittany we headed to the nearest beach to look for shells. The water was so blue and the sunset was spectacular (much more beautiful than the pictures could show). The temperature this day was 70 degrees.

One final hug at the end of the day. Tomorrow is graduation and then we get to bring Brittany HOME!!

Even though they are not allowed to show public displays of affection while in uniform, Brittany just had to hold and hug her baby sister Madison!!

Since they were not allowed to use cell phones in public while in uniform Brittany got to call her boyfriend Ernie from the back of the car!! He didn't really believe it was her at first since they hadn't spoken for 3 months.

We got to spend the day on base with Brittany from 10am until 3pm on Thursday, November 20th.There was a lot of crying going on today. Brittany had no idea that Jessica was going to be there for family day.

Say hello to Pedro!!

Our trip started on Wednesday November 19th. We left around 11am. My daughter Jessica took 2 days off work so she could go down also to see her sister on family day. We met up with Jess in Rocky Mount, NC for dinner and she followed behind us from there. We started seeing signs for South of the Border (yes, one of the tackiest tourist attractions in the East) and decided to stop. There wasn't much open but we did take pictures and did a lot of laughing!!

We have been trying to get Maddie to give up her beloved "feefee" (pacifier) for some time now. She has "sold" it several times for $5.00, thrown it in the trash more times than we can count.... Well, it came down to 2 left. One she is STILL hanging on to, the other got a hole in it so I threw it away. It was in the trash to be burnt, so off to the burning ditch it went. WELL, the trash was burnt down to ashes and as it turns out the "feefee" just didn't die!! Here is the picture of the remains AFTER being burnt. Too funny!!

My girls!! Oh how I miss them!! Jessica (on the right) works WAY too much, but I guess that is a good thing and Brittany is still in boot camp. I can't wait until the 20th when we will be in Parris Island, SC for her graduation! I am so proud of them both.
